class=\"ekit-team-modal-content\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tSherry Monani started training with ballet at the age of 4, and continued till she was 12. This early training brought about an awareness of the body and its alignments, the importance of breathing correctly and the necessity of good posture. When she was 16 she began instructor training in aerobics, gym workouts and Pilates mat work. At 19 she began learning Hatha Yoga and soon saw the benefit of combining these diverse exercise forms, since each form produces specific yet varied effects.\n\n \n\nBy age 22 Sherry had developed her method of exercise combination and began to train people of various age groups and levels of fitness. In 2007, she went to Kerala and studied Kalari Payattu, and the yoga connected with this ancient martial art. The addition and understanding of several asanas and progressions from this system added a new dimension to the still evolving exercise combination that would become the Monani Method.\n\nFor the last 15 years, Sherry has lived and taught in Goa, and all of her clients have had body changing experiences, not only the weight\/inch loss but also better alignment and posture, more efficient metabolism and increased strength, stamina and flexibility. During his study he was initiated into the rare and ancient Kevala school of Breathwork (used by warriors of ancient times to calm their minds and by laymen to treat anxiety and depression) from one of his masters as a practice for himself to calm and centre his mind.  It is this practice that he shares now as a tribute to his Master in keeping these ancient traditions Together they bring us to an overall sense of calmness, but more importantly they can train the Amygdala. The Amygdala  is where emotions are given meaning, remembered, and attached to associations as well as responses it is considered to be part of the brain's limbic system and has a central role in anxiety responses to stressful and arousing situations. The 'fight or flight response' originates here and it's also the place where panic attacks and anxiety are triggered due to emotional or physical stimuli.
